Fun Fact 1: How It Started

It all started in 1942 when J. A. Bombardier founded a company that would eventually be known as Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). Starting with introducing machines that conquered the snow, BRP eventually became one of the most innovative and influential names on the market. 

 

Fun Fact 2: ATVs Introduced

The name Can-Am originally was used to promote the company’s motocross bikes, but in the late 1990s, they moved away from that market and ventured into producing ATVs. Their first innovation was applying the TTI rear suspension to an ATV frame. In 2002, the first manufacturer-approved ATV for two people rolled out of the factory, further solidifying their presence in the quad market.

Fun Fact 3: Innovation Happened

The next major change came in 2010 when Can-Am released the Commander™, their first side-by-side and one of the more versatile models on the market, sporting an 85 hp Rotax ® 1000 V-Twin engine. They later released the Maverick™ side by side as a sportier counterpart to the more utility-oriented Commander. And that’s just the beginning.
